As the end of summer is upon us I find myself enjoying the shift from more open-ended days to structure. Violet started Kindergarten last Thursday and I started grad school Monday night to get my MFT. I love it BTW. In ayurveda my constitution is mostly Vata (If you don't know what I mean there are 3 doshas and they can help guide you towards balance when you eat certain foods and adhere to certain lifesyle suggestions).
Vata's need structure. So as we dive into a routine again I find my body, mind and even my heart are more settled by having a rhythm.
I have been sitting with my planner designing how I want my life to look. At times it can feel so exciting to have wonderful opportunities ahead of me and at other times I get overwhelmed by the amount of interests and to do's I have to juggle. Especially as a mom.
Monday I had blocked out 3 hours, while Violet was at school to write you, pay some bills, take a walk and organize myself for school that evening. At 6 am I woke up to meditate and checked my phone as I usually do before I take my seat. A friend had texted me a few minutes earlier that she was in trouble and needed to be taken to the hospital. I threw on clothes, grabbed my keys and arrived at her door 20 minutes later to find out....
