Stop Late Night Eating

Hello!
How is your summer going? Have you had a chance to take some time off and enjoy the expansive weather and "fruits" of summer? I got my first summer holiday last week. My husband Chris and I took our daughter Violet, to Harbin Hot springs. We had a great time- swimming, soaking, eating great food, doing yoga and hanging with friends. It had been awhile since we took a family vacation I forgot how fun they are. (These last few years have been solo vacations and my husband and I take turns). And I am feeling very lucky- we jet set off to the Jersey Shore next week for a full family vacation with my family and Chris's.

Time off has a lot to do with eating, well rather over eating that is....and especially late night eating.

Here's the low down....

Your body, mind and even spirit are constantly looking for balance.

One of the first things to know about balance is that it is VERY different for each and every person. Be wary of magazine articles or books that claim they know the magic tricks for balance. It's a personal investigation.

Let's investigate it further with the theme of overeating.

It's often true that overeating brings up an array of unpleasant feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations.

I imagine that you might:

  • Get hard on yourself, telling yourself such things as I should know better, I promised myself that I would not do that again, see I am a failure, I can't stop over eating.
  • You might feel sad, depressed, discouraged, cranky, angry and hopeless.
  • And then there are the physical feelings: bloat, gas, indigestion, etc....
I know. I have been there.

Here's a reframe:

Overeating is actually an attempt to find balance.
